Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies has successfully completed hundreds of projects, around the world, for boiler feed, purified water (PW), water for injection (WFI), clean steam (CS) applications and treatment of pharmaceutical effluent waste water - ranging from simple package system to turn-key plant which include all Clean Utilities.

 

Turn-key project: purified water (PW) & water for injection (WFI) plant.

The 7 000 liters purified water storage tank supplies purified water to one multi effect still and to one pure steam generator. The WFI distribution loop has its own 7 000 liters storage tank and was designed with hot (85°C/185°F) and cold (20°C/68°F) points of use.

Turn-key expertise

The plant is benefiting of our expertise in standard system design (ORION™ 7000) and of our capability to engineer multi storage tanks and distribution loops project. The installation is validated IQ/OQ and comply to 21 CFR Part 11.

Boiler feed plant

Pharmaceutical facilities need large quantities of heat (hot water, steam) for their manufacturing processes (sterilisation, heating of tanks, fermentation). Boiler plants require high purity water free from hardness, dissolved gases (oxygen), sodium hydroxide in order to maximise heat transfert and efficiency.

The plant is a triplex (3 steams) of ion exchange deionisers producing 150 m3/h (660 gpm) of high purity water. It's a Cation + Degasser + Anion + Cation polisher configuration.

Purified water generation package system : ORION™

ORION™ is a standard packaged system, designed according the latest version of GAMP, cGMP, ISPE, FDA & USP. The range cover needs from 500 l/h (2.2 gpm) to 10m3/h (44 gpm). The system uses hot water for sanitisation, either pre-treatment (softeners) or reverse osmosis and electrodeionisation stages. ORION™ is the world's leading hot water sanitisable water treatment solution.

2007: ORION™ is creating a milestone in water treatment with a unique concept: a complete modular design.

Bespoke purified water generation skid

The skid is completly bespoke to customer needs. Two streams of 2.5m3/h (11 gpm) using reverse osmosis, degazing membrane and electrodeionisation. The installation is fully design in 2D/3D with the latest mechanical design software available and tested by our Commissioning Team prior shipment, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test).

Distribution skid (sanitisation with hot water, over-heated water or ozone)

The distribution skid is delivering 8m3/h (35 gpm) to the process rooms with cold purified water <25°C (<77°F). The loop sanitisation is carried out by hot water at 90°C (194°F)and fully automatic. We design also distribution skid using ozone (O3), hot water (85°C/185°F) or over-heated water (121°C/249°F) that meets your specifications, needs and water quality requirements.

This compact and modular design can treat 20m3/h / 88 gpm (see picture) of insdustrial waste water per module, ensuring comprehensive removal of suspended matter plus significant reduction of COD load.

Our innovative Biosep™ process offers a high performance combination of two proven and robust technologies: aerobic biological treatment using activated sludge and immersed membrane filtration.
